SIR – David Barnett’s column on June 26 about ‘spanners’ was the funniest I’ve ever read.
His observations on how a little sun can cause chaos among certain sections of the male species was brilliant, describing half-naked bodies, T-shirts folded up or tucked in trackies was spot on.
This is how the Romans must have viewed us 2,000 years ago.
