Pavement parkers a menace

SIR – I would like someone to explain to me why people are getting away with parking on pavements and, I’m sure, other offences.

I collect my grand-daughters from Low Moor C of E School and, I can tell you, it’s every one for themselves, the motorists have no thought at all for us.

I have seen young mothers go round cars with prams. I myself had to do the same. They park on both sides of a narrow road, nothing gets past.

What makes it worse is there is an industrial area at one end, and lorries have to get through.

But are they bothered? No, I was even told by one motorist that the firms should know not to send lorries on there at 3pm when cars are parked. You couldn’t make it up.

It is time something was done before someone gets hurt.
