SIR - The so-called Islamic State, with its demonic actions in beheading captives, should be anathema to all right thinking people and countries.

Its actions also do severe harm, rightly or wrongly, to the general view of Muslims, and need to be condemned from all quarters.

It is a shame that the Muslim community here in Bradford — let alone elsewhere — does not come out and hold rallies in Centenary Square to utterly condemn this outrageous and obnoxious organisation.

That community have railed against other issues surely much less odious than this. They really do need to show us all where they stand in this regard, if only to confirm that their religion is totally opposed to these militants. I would like to think that all our Muslim friends would be happy to shout this from the rooftops.
