Putin plots expansion
SIR – Regarding the Ukraine, Russian troops invaded Crimea, storming Ukrainian Government buildings in Sevastopol and other major cities in Crimea.
They ransacked some and set fire to others. They also overcame the small Ukrainian Army unit and commandeered there tanks and weapons. Having achieved his aim, President Putin then went on to annexe Crimea and, with full world media attention, welcomed the region back into Russia.
He intends to do the same with the rest of Eastern Ukraine. That is expansionism.
