SIR – Never mind pestering George Osborne about a rail link to the airport (T&A, September 9) what about getting existing lines sorted out? I noticed the map included didn’t show both our stations linked up.
I’d like to think I could board a train in south Bradford, pass through New City station, onwards to the airport without having to clamber onto a bus with luggage, into the Interchange, across Forster Square.
Plans such as these will not come into being until around 2030. Most of us older folk won’t be here by then, so we don’t care.
How much will it cost to build, whose homes are in the way to build the line?
And with the rail fares going up, people will not use the train and will continue to ask friends/relatives to drop them off at the airport. Stop coming up with these crackpot ideas, think about the roads around Bradford instead.
