SIR – After reading in the Telegraph & Argus that a man had been bitten three times by an adder and black poisonous spiders had been found in the South of England, I was not surprised to hear on the BBC News channel scientists predicting that because of global warming the UK’s scorpions could grow bigger and more venomous and our female mosquitoes become conveyors of malaria like those in other countries.
It is to be hoped these environmental changes don’t materialise or our green and pleasant land will be fraught with danger.
