SIR - I’d like to share some information from the Jewish Voice for Peace regarding Gaza: Nearly 2,000 dead - nearly a quarter of them children. 10,000 injured. 10,000 homes destroyed and three times that damaged (plus mosques, schools, factories, farms).

The only power plant hit, affecting all aspects of life; healthcare, sewage treatment... All this on top of damage from Israeli attacks in 2009 and 2012.

It’s like shooting fish in a barrel.

Ignoring “normal” hospital cases, Gaza hospitals had one bed for every five injured. People are discharged early to what? A pile of rubble? As usual traumatised kids and others mentally affected barely get a mention.

Can there be peace while Gaza is blockaded and occupied? The Israelis will never give up illegally-occupied territory and allow Palestinians self-determination. Only the USA can even nudge them towards this. I support a boycott, especially of West Bank goods.
