SIR – Re the letter (T&A, July 21) headed “Need I say more?” extolling the virtues of the Liberal Democrats is commendable but somewhat misguided.
After next year’s General Election, it is likely they will be consigned to history and recorded in the history books as was Sir Henry Campbell Bannerman (Liberal Prime Minister 1905/08) – “the great non-entity of Edwardian politics, remembered chiefly as the man about whom all is forgotten”.
