SIR – I am writing to express my disgust and horror at the events taking place in Gaza. The Israelis have killed an estimated 170 people (mainly civilians and many children) and not a single Israeli has died. Yet our government remains silent and continues to back Israel.

Our country is likely to pay a high price through future terrorism for this stance and we deserve it. Why would some of our Muslim youth not consider terrorism when they see how clearly the lines are drawn? The only shred of hope is the many demonstrations taking place all over the country including in Bradford.

This is not a war, it is a massacre. The UK is without a shred of humanity today.
