SIR – Yet again there is an article (T&A, July 14) regarding building companies wanting to build on green belt land. I’d like to point out the following - six large brown field sites within the Bradford area:

1 - The Seabrook’s Crisps site in Allerton Road. Not a cleared site but derelict for a very long time.

2 - The United States Metallic Packing Company, again in Allerton Road. This site has been cleared for many, many years. The weeds/foliage are taller than I am!!!

3 - The Woolcombers’ site in Thornton Road.

4 - The old AIS site in Cemetery Road.

5 - The Fields Packaging Company in nearby Lidget Green.

6 - The old Grattan building in Ingleby Road.

All flattened, ready for development and within residential areas.

These are the sites that I know of; there must be many more that I’m unaware of.

Please Bradford council’s planners – can’t you insist that these sites are redeveloped into housing estates before any more green belt land is grabbed?
