SIR – In his letter (T&A, March 27) B Barraclough bemoaned the delay in the opening of Low Moor station.
He went on to ask why it was being built on the allocated site, as “if it is built there, the Spen Valley line will be cut off forever.”
In this he is incorrect. I have received several written assurances, including one this month, from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (Metro), confirming that the design of the new station will not jeopardise the future re-opening of the former Spen Valley line.
So, let's hope that in the not too distant future this can indeed come to fruition.
