Wonderful waste

By Doug Akroyd »

There’s something very satisfying about digging out your own compost.
All those months, maybe years, of letting garden waste rot down bear fruit with a glorious black or deep brown soil top spread on the garden.
That magical transformation from waste to rich usefulness never fails to amaze me, even though shifting the stuff is a bit on the back-breaking side.
Somehow, the work seems worth it. And I’m sure the plants and bushes really appreciate it too.
