Batley & Spen Conservative parliamentary candidate Janice Small helped clean up a play area in Heckmondwike with the housing association landowner.
The Brighton Street play area is owned by Sadeh Lok and had fallen into disrepair after they believed the ownership had passed to Kirklees Council.
Once it was confirmed they agreed to transform the green space with the help of a landscape gardener.
Miss Small said: “There are a number of Kirklees-owned and housing association green spaces that are frankly a mess and need someone to roll up their sleeves and get these areas cleaned up and made good for the children to play in.
“Too many young people here have no where to play football, time and time again when I am out on the streets young people ask why they can’t have more play areas.
“I am determined that the many unused green spaces will be utilised for residents rather than used as unsightly dumping grounds.”
