All eyes will be on Bradford over the coming days as the City of Film gets its official launch alongside the delights of this year’s Bradford International Film Festival.

The BIFF has its widest reach yet, with venues spread across the district where in previous years it had been confined largely to the National Media Museum in the city centre.

The City of Film launch takes place today, with a whole host of events across Bradford being held to support it.

Whether your thing is food, talk, fun with the likes of Laurel and Hardy lookalikes or simply just settling down to watch a good movie, then Bradford is the place to be.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun John Godward, said: “The City of Film status is a wonderful achievement for the city and district and allows us to celebrate our great film heritage and develop the excellent work that is being done in film within the district. We feel sure that this designation will encourage more film-makers and enthusiasts to come to Bradford and boost the local economy.

“It will build Bradford’s local and international profile and give the local residents and visitors an exciting and inspiring place to enjoy film.”
