HAWORTH’S own Home Guard platoon is starring in a new blockbuster Dad’s Army movie.

Members of the group have taken part in filming for the major production, based on characters from the classic BBC TV sitcom.

About 20 ‘soldiers’ went to Bridlington for the shooting of a street scene.

Among them was 47-year-old drayman, Dale Elsworth, but he was playing the role of a civilian rather than marching with his colleagues – his parents, Brian and Hazel, were also involved.

Filming is being carried out entirely in Yorkshire.
