Bromley Athletic Club reaffirmed its status as the top women's club in Kent by winning the Kent League Division One by a massive 1593 points to nearest rivals Ashford with 1443. A full report will be in next week's issue.
Alberta Agyekum, of Bromley High School, celebrated her three grade A passes at A-level and a place at Imperial College, London, for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, by recording a personal best in the 100m hurdles with 16.0sec in the Southern Intercounties.
Meanwhile, Bromley AC had a successful time in both the Southern Women's League Division Two and the National Junior League (Kent Area) for men and women under 20.
At Norman Park, the Southern League team was graced with the presence of four of its international athletes, who assisted the core team to its first win of the season after narrowly losing at Portsmouth.
Commonwealth silver medalist Myrtle Augee resumed her comeback after sur-gery to take the hammer, discus and shot in 37.55m, 39.47m and 14.50m respectively.
British indoor record-holder Debbie Marti won the high jump in 1.70m, with Montell Douglas winning the B string in 1.55m. Debbie also came second in the javelin with 34.16m and Montell won the 100m in 12.1sec.
Maureen Miller won the 800 metres in 2mins 18.2sec, while Agyekum and Alison Jones were second and first in the A and B strings of the 100m hurdles, and Alison finished second in the 400m hurdles.
Claire Hobson won the B-string 100m, the 4x100m relay had a decisive win in 51.1sec, as did the under-15 relay squad in 52.7sec, while Sophie Terrell won the under-17 80m hurdles and Rachel Chadwick was second in the 300m hurdles.
Lizzie Kenny and Ella Fisher both had fine wins in the 1,500 and 800 mteres, with Lizzie also wiining the B-string discus.
Amy Godsell and Sarah Jearum hurdled well for two second places in the 75m races, with Amy and Helen Bhandari second in the 100m and Vicky Cole winning the B-string 200m in 28.3sec.
Katie Allocha threw 8.22m in the U-15 A shot, while Rachel Blackie threw 8.12m in the B event, both earning second places.
At the National Junior League meeting at Croydon, Shane Henry recorded another pb in the long jump with 5.65m for third place, while road-runner Jonathan Ferreira also clocked a PB of 12mins 28.6sec in the 3,000 metres.
Katie Major threw an excellent 8.75m to win the shot with Sonja Bye threw the discus with a PB of 22.38m and 400m in 62.8sec. There were also wins for Montell Douglas in the 100m and Agyekum in the 100m hurdles and triple jump.
