A HUGE batch of chicken fillets have been binned after a lorry carrying the produce spilt its load.
Police were called in to close a section of Bolton Lane and Queens Road in Bradford after the HGV shed a number of its containers packed with fresh meat.
Bradford police tweeted a photograph at around 6pm on Sunday with the message: "HGV lorry spilt its load of chicken. Road closures in place around Bolton Lane/Queens Road, Bradford. No suspected foul (fowl) play."
A resident living nearby said the spillage occurred on Sunday afternoon and he was concerned that the meat would attract vermin.
They were also concerned about the meat juices, which were running down the road past their homes, and the smell as the meat was sat in high temperatures.
A council spokeswoman said: "The road remained closed from Sunday night when the incident occurred and was re-opened on Monday afternoon, all the affected poultry has since been destroyed and a team of road cleaners were dispatched to the area where a deep and intensive clean was carried out to ensure any residue left by the spillage was removed."
