Probe into blaze at Cleckheaton farm

A probe was under way today into the cause of a fire at a derelict farm building in Cleckheaton.

Firefighters from stations across the district were called to the building in Primrose Lane at about 1.45am.

Crews from Cleckheaton were first on the scene but then requested another five fire appliances from stations including Brighouse and Batley.

A West Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said the fire was in a derelict farm building.

He said firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading and the cause remained under investigation.
