'FALSE Teeth found - apply within' isn't the usual shop advertising sign.

But Gomersal shopkeeper, David Allen, is eager to reunite the gnashers found on the floor of his convenience store, Woodlands Food and Wine in Woodlands Road on Wednesday lunchtime with their rightful owner.

The 49-year-old explains that his attention was initially drawn to the set of dentures by two young lads who had popped in to the shop for some sweets.

He admits he initially thought the pair were playing a prank until he saw them himself.

"They were found at the front of the soft drink fridges. We thought may be they were in someone's pocket and they could have pulled them out as they got their money out," explains David.

A customer has already stepped in with the search by putting a photograph of the bottom plate featuring five false teeth on the community social media site, Cleckheaton Matters.

David says it is the most unusual thing that has happened in the seven years he has been in the shop and it is certainly causing a stir amongst his customers.
