A 34-YEAR-OLD man was arrested and released on bail on suspicion of wounding after a serious assault in Liversedge.
The victim, a 36-year-old man, was treated for serious injuries after being attacked at an address in Second Avenue. He was treated at Desbury Hospital and later discharged.
It is thought the victim had remained at the property overnight but then left the next day when he flagged down a passing motorist who took him to Dewsbury Hospital.
The attack took place at around midnight on Wednesday, March 16.
Officers want to speak to any witnesses to the assault but are also keen to trace the person who took the victim to hospital.
Detective Constable Shaun Topham, of Huddersfield CID, said: "This was a vicious assault and I am appealing directly to anyone with information about this to come forward."
