A LIVERSEDGE man who was part of a gang caught trying to smuggle almost a quarter of a million pounds’ worth of cocaine into West Yorkshire has been jailed.

Kevin Margison was in a Nissan Qashqai that had the drug stashed under a front seat when it was pulled over by police near junction 22 (Saddleworth) on the M62 eastbound on August 18, 2012.

The 38-year-old was one of three men involved in the plot. was in the car with Margison. at an underground car park in Liverpool.

At Leeds Crown Court Margison and Penderel Evans, 62, of Huddersfield, were jailed for three years and six months each for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Paul Long, 33, of Liverpool, who had supplied the pair was sentenced to five years.
