Confrontation between two motorists forces closure of motorway lane
ONE lane of the M62 near the Chain Bar roundabout had to be closed today after an "altercation" between two drivers.
Police said two cars pulled off the eastbound carriageway between junction 26, Chain Bar, and junction 27, at Gildersome, at around 11.35am, at which point the two drivers got out and apparently confronted each other.
One of the vehicles was damaged, and one lane of the motorway had to be closed as a precaution while the damaged vehicle was removed from the lane.
Traffic had backed up as a result of the incident, but all lanes were re-opened just after 12pm.
