Police are hoping to trace the owners of this dog, which was abandoned near a marina.

The dog was found at 10am yesterday next to a hand-pulled cart near Shepley Bridge Marina in Mirfield.

It is being looked after by the police, who are trying to find its owners.

Inspector Andrew Lockwood, of Huddersfield Police, said: "We are working to locate the owner of this animal and would like to speak to anyone who can assist.

“The owner or anyone who has information is asked to contact the Dewsbury and Mirfield neighbourhood policing team on 101, quoting log 433 of 21/04.”
