POLICE have arrested three men in Bradford after North Yorkshire Police were involved in a pursuit of a stolen quad bike.

The quad was first spotted by police on the A629 at 1.10am on Wednesday (November 15) after the machine had been taken from Kilnsey.

It was being followed closely by a Volkswagen Golf.

Both vehicles were pursued by an officer along the A629 towards West Yorkshire during which the quad rider then drove the wrong way down the Kildwick to Steeton dual carriageway with its lights off before the officer lost sight of it.

Officers in West Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit later located the quad and the Golf leading to the quad being abandoned in Lorne Street in Dudley Hill, Bradford. The car was stopped in Broadstone Way, Holme Wood.

A 34-year-old Gildersome man and two Bradford men, aged 21 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of theft.

All three remain in police custody for questioning.

North Yorkshire Police later tweeted: “Fantastic work by all those involved targeting cross-border criminality overnight."
