A DRIVER escaped injury when his car plunged 15 feet from a road and landed on its roof in a field near Skipton.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident, in Broughton Road, on the edge of the town, just before 12.30pm on Saturday.

When fire crews arrived on the scene they found the driver of the green Ford Fiesta had already got out of the vehicle.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said no other vehicle had been involved and nobody had been injured in the incident.

She added that a man in his 20s was helping police with their inquiries in connection with driving offences.
