ABOUT 2,000 people came to the switching on of Skipton’s new Christmas Lights.
The new lights, including lamp post motifs, cross-street motifs, tree lighting and a “ceiling of light” above Sheep Street have been funded by the town council and the Skipton Town Partnership.
The town boasts its biggest ever Christmas tree – from Bolton Abbey Estate. The lights were switched on by Kaden Christophides, a pupil at Water Street School, joined by the town mayor, Cllr John Dawson, and Fairtrade Yorkshire’s Mark Dawson.
