PUPILS have performed the mini-musical Shakespeare Rocks to an audience of parents, grandparents and fellow youngsters.

The cast was made up mostly of year six children at Eastburn Primary, Keighley, with a few year five pupils was wanted to take part.

Head teacher Jan Elliott said the school’s year six group always prepared a show during the summer after their SATS exams.

Other year groups presented their annual shows at Christmas or Easter.

She said: “Shakespeare Rocks had a hilarious script. We had boys dressed as girls dressed as boys dressed as girls, which was one of the running jokes.”

The show featured original songs, and a cast that included Louis Smith as William Shakespeare.

Shakespeare Rocks, written by Steve Titford, is described as a hilarious but factually correct take on the life and times of the Bard.
