A WOMAN shop worker was punched several times in the head in a violent robbery by two men.

One man kept watch at the door while the other vaulted the counter and punched the 46-year-old woman about the head.

He punched her again before snatching cash from her hand.

The incident happened shortly before 9pm on Monday, February 22, at the KC's Express mini-market in Kirk Lane, Yeadon.

Details of what happened and two CCTV stills have now been released by police.

Detective Constable Dave Armstrong, of Leeds District Crime Team, said: "This was frightening experience for the victim who was working alone at the time.

"She was treated at hospital after the attack and fortunately was not seriously injured.

"Although the suspects disguised their faces, their clothing is visible on the CCTV images and I would like to hear from anyone who thinks they know who might have been involved."
