TWO parks In Guiseley have been given revamps totalling more than £120,000

Leeds City Council’s parks and countryside team has been carrying out work at Nunroyd Park and Springfield Park as part of two projects funded by contributions from local developers.

In a £60,000 scheme at Nunroyd Park, a new path network has been created to improve access around the green space for visitors.

The children’s area at Springfield Park has also been given a facelift and extension as part of a £64,000 project, which has included the fitting of new play equipment and a tarmac surface. The new play equipment includes two springers, a multi-play unit with slide, a special toadstool for imaginative play and reading, as well as a small train with carriages.

Councillor Jack Dunn, Leeds City Council’s lead member for parks said: "It is really great news that much needed refurbishment work has now been completed at both Nunroyd Park and Springfield Park in Guiseley.

"Both parks are a great place for all the family to relax and enjoy, and we are especially excited by the extension to the children’s play area at Springfield Park, which boasting a range of fantastic and fun new equipment, looks absolutely fantastic."
