Free runners have been showing off their gravity-defying skills at the opening of a fitness area designed for teenagers.

The new multi-sports area, at Ladyhill Park in Allerton , includes ten pieces of fixed outdoor play equipment.

There is a state-of-the-art steel skate park and a parkour wall which can be used for free running, and the former tennis courts at the park have been renovated.

The £84,462 project is aimed at getting youngsters to play outdoors and increase their fitness levels.

The Friends of Ladyhill Park, which has worked closely with Bradford Council’s parks team, was given a £15,000 grant towards the fitness area by the Veolia Environmental Trust.

The grant was made through the Landfill Communities Fund. Additional funds of £69,462 have come from Bradford Council using money secured through recently completed local developments.
