A man has appeared in Court on firearms and drugs charges after police seized a sawn-off shotgun and a semi-automatic sawn-off weapon in a crackdown on gun crime in Bradford.
Jameel Ahmed, 22, was remanded in custody when he appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court yesterday, until a hearing at crown court on Tuesday, September 25.
Magistrates were told his arrest was part of a police investigation into the acquisition of firearms in the Bradford area.
Ahmed was charged with two firearms and three drugs offences after he was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of possessing a prohibited weapon and possession with intent to supply class A drugs, namely crack, heroin and crack cocaine.
His arrest followed a warrant executed on Devonshire Terrace in Manningham on July 4 under Operation Sabredale.
