By Kathie Griffiths, T&A Reporter
The scene today
Police cordoned off part of Bradford city centre and are appealing for witnesses after a 37-year-old man was found with a serious head injury last night.
Officers were called to the Westgate area just after 9pm.
The man was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary, where he is still in a serious condition.
An area close to the junction between Westgate and Goodwin Street was sealed off for forensic examination and was still closed off this morning.
Detective Inspector Nicola Bryar, from Bradford CID, appealed to motorists who may have seen the incident last night to contact police.
She said: "We were notified about this incident from a passing motorist “ I would ask anyone who was driving past or was just in the area last night and saw anything suspicious to get in touch."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Bradford South CID by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
