Man, 21, loses leg after car smashes into bus shelter in Bradford

A pedestrian, who was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Bradford early yesterday, has had a leg amputated.

The 21-year-old man was struck by a Subaru Impreza as it careered into a bus shelter and wall in Keighley Road, near the junction with Oak Lane, at about 3.25am.

He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where surgeons had to carry out the amputation.

The male driver of the Subaru has been questioned by police and released on bail pending further inquiries.
