Police were today investigating whether two street robberies in Bradford yesterday are linked.
In the first, at 12.40pm, a 71-year-old woman was pushed over by a man who took her handbag at the junction of St Chad’s Road and Toller Lane in Girlington. He ran into a park in Farcliffe Road. The woman suffered grazes to her hands.
At 6pm in Squire Lane, Heaton, a 23-year-old woman talking on her phone had it snatched from her grasp by a man who made off along Springroyd Terrace. She lost her footing and fell leaving her with grazes to her hands and knees.
In both incidents the suspect was described as Asian, aged between 18 and 20 and about 5ft 8ins tall.
Witnesses or anyone with information about either robbery should contact Detective Constable Jane Hebdon, at Bradford South CID, on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
