A pensioner found dead from natural causes had extensive burns to his leg because it had rested against a radiator left on full, an inquest has heard.
Allan James Poole, who was 75 and lived alone at Southdown Close in Heaton, Bradford, was discovered on January 28 last year by police. Officers had been called by a housing officer worried that Mr Poole had not been seen for some time.
The Bradford inquest yesterday heard Mr Poole had last been spotted on New Year’s Day by someone visiting a neighbouring flat.
Police at the scene were satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances and a post-mortem examination later revealed Mr Poole had died from chronic obstructive airways disease.
Acting Bradford Coroner Professor Paul Marks recorded a verdict of natural causes.
