Bradford Grammar School headteacher Stephen Davidson retires tomorrow after 15 years in the post. During his time at the helm, the school has become fully co-educational and developed high-quality learning and sports facilities, including a competition-sized swimming pool, new sixth form centre and science labs. To mark his departure Mr Davidson, who is to become High Sheriff of West Yorkshire, has created a means-tested bursary fund to enable more pupils to attend the school. The Stephen Davidson Bursary Fund, which has already exceeded more than £100,000, will run alongside an existing fund from which about 120 pupils benefit each year.
