Householders who receive bags to fill from an organisation calling itself Air Ambulance Service are being warned not to confuse it with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance put out the warning after hearing leaflets carrying that name had dropped through doors in Thornton and Cullingworth.

Kate Collinson, of Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said she wanted to make clear there were “no links whatsoever” between it and the ‘Air Ambulance Service’.

“Nor have we ever been involved with them,” she said. “Our official recycling partner is Bag It Up Ltd. We would also like to clarify we do not operate a doorstep collection service.

“Instead, we encourage our supporters to donate unwanted textiles at their nearest YAA recycling bank.”

In the past five years since the charity and Bag It Up Ltd teamed up, more than £1 million has been raised.

Any information or goods linked to the YAA recycling scheme are branded with the YAA logo, charity registration number and contact details.

Next week is National Recycling Week and the charity wants to thank its supporters across Bradford.

Miss Collinson said: “We want to sincerely thank all our supporters from across Bradford who have continued to donate their unwanted textiles and hope they will continue to support us to help us raise even more money.”

Earlier this month in Worcester, a commercial collection company called Air Ambulance Service was being investigated by Trading Standards, despite the watchdog earlier saying it was not breaking the law.
