The bill for looking after dogs seized by police in West Yorkshire ran to more than £85,000 last year.
In the 12-month period up to November, 183 dogs were seized by West Yorkshire Police, of which 56 were destroyed, 91 were returned to the owner and 36 were re-homed, a Freedom of Information request made by the Telegraph & Argus has revealed.
