Skipton commuters hit by train delay at Steeton and Silsden

Commuters catching early morning train services on the Skipton to Leeds have been hit by delays.

A Northern Rail service, the 7.24am train from Skipton, was halted at Steeton and Silsden station.

An eyewitness reported commuters flocking from the station in search of alternative onward journeys. Engineers were seen standing on the tracks in the direction of Keighley inspecting the track.

A Northern Rail spokesman said: ''We had a track issue between Silsden and Steeton and Keighley which meant we couldn’t run services between Keighley and Skipton for 40 minutes. At 7.40am we could resume services at a reduced speed but there will be a knock-on effect to later services''

it is their liability though if someone posts something that is defamatory or libellous. It's clearly a contentious subject so it's a fairly sensible move given some of the racist comments that are posted on less contentious issues. It's the way of the world smallboy that they have to protect their interests.

There's no need to 'debate' on the racists that are the EDL (aka the NF, the BNP, and Combat 18, all combined in one).
.
The racists think they're fighting religious extremism; what a load of nonsense. They're just looking for a fight, that's all. Here, watch this video:

At the risk of interrupting your irrelevant conversation on the why’s and wherefore’s of the enp, bmp. and all. May I point out that these comments I think, should be about the consistent delays that frequent the Skipton Keighley trains. Hardly a week goes by without some feeble excuse as to why the trains are delayed on this short stretch of track. May I point out that passengers who use this form of communication, frequently have other transport to catch for work, school and other destinations. Employers are not always sympathetic to feeble excuses given out by Northern rail and loss of pay doesn’t go down well either! Could it be that staff are still in bed, as early mornings seem to be a factor?

So says our local Taliban apologist.
What exactly does this have to do with passenger transport on the Airedale line?

It was in response to another poster. Funny how you didn't bother to address your comments to him. Maybe because he's a supporter of the cowardly and racist EDL ? - like yourself, albion ? {rolleyes}

A group representing city traders has backed the Telegraph & Argus campaign supporting calls for a ban on the proposed English Defence League rally.

Bradford Chamber of Trade says it will serve no useful purpose to allow the EDL to hold a large rally in Bradford over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Val Summerscales, of the chamber, said it would be a “backward step” for Bradford if the event were to go ahead as scheduled on Saturday, August 28.

She said: “We expressed our concerns via the open meeting that was held at City Hall. We have signed the form asking for the Home Secretary to ban the event. The last thing we want is for it to kick off in the city centre or anywhere else afterwards.

“In 2001, it went all over the place, out to other areas, and caused

Absolutely. To be fair Albion, you should have addressed the first irrelevant post.

I don't often use the Skipton - Leeds train by the way but it's amazing that a delay over one day is seen as newsworthy... Wouldn't this info be better under live travel news?
Smudge XVI - it's not the only line affected by delays in my experience...
