I see that Egypt today stopped an aid convoy to Gaza passing through its country, Egypt closed its borders with Gaza after Hamas gained power.
As i remember it some previous convoys were looted in Gaza before reaching their final destination, Will ALL of this one reach its intended destination one wonders?
With regard to the above comments about the Israeli army, yes they are very hard when countering aggressive action from over the border and yes they have hung onto land seized during previous skirmishes, but the fact is that if they let their guard slip they will be dealt with in a much more unpleasant fashion than the things they have got up to themselves, they know that as does everyone else including those who take such obvious delight in issuing the threats.

Where is there any reports showing that uninvolved and innocent civilian children were responsible for anything that has happend regarding the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel, thus the deserving of a 'backhander' from Israel. According to reports (between Dec 27th 08 to Jan 1st 09), Israel fired 'at least 245 bombs from F-16 aircraft and Apache helicopters maximum warhead of 250lbs. 100 Tons of bombs dropped on December 27 alone'. You call that a ‘backhander‘?

Are you saying that Israel can only use home made rockets in retaliation in gaza? You'll be saying that the British Army should have to fight in comedy dark ages costumes against the Taliban or only be allowed to attack them dressed as civilians with dynamite strapped to their chest.
This convoy does not go in peace as it is only interested in supporting one side. If it wasn't so racially prejudiced, it would be going to parts of the world where muslims are the agressers. Ie to support Christians in Pakistan

Dennis; please try not to be so ignorant. I think what the comments by Ali stipulate is the harsh reality of the oppressive regime and violation of Human Rights undertaken by the regime of the state of Israel. The responses are overtly heavy handed towards home made rocket attacks by a hard line minority and the israelies therefore indiscriminantly target women and children who are living in the largest refugee camp in the world and where they are kept prisoners in their own country with little aid going in. The life of a palestinian citizen has no meaning to the israelis who are living on Muslim occupied lands and their sole aim is to protect and preserve their own way of life at others expense. It is also a fact that the Jewish lobbyists in America have a powerful influence over international politics and can therefore dictate foreign policy. Whats happening in Palestine is nothing more than a holocaust towards the muslims and Israeli's are always saying what a difficult time they had but have learnt nothing. If Palestine was aloud to flourish and the citizens had decent jobs and income then they would have an alternative.....

Dennis; i do get a sense of a racial undertone in your comments. History proves that non muslims living in muslim territory have always enjoyed freedom of religions without fear of being oppressed. There are many christian monuments in Pakistan which are preserved to this day. There is a great deal of religious tolerance still in Pakistan (with a few exceptions from those hell bent on causing harted). Would your comments be the same if the target of Israeli's was other than muslim i wonder? Does the life of a muslim have no value? The convoy isnt about "taking sides" and i feel your comments of "this convoy does not go in peace" are totally out of proportion and unsubstantiated and only reflect your own biased and stereotypical views. The convoy aims to help women and children and please also bear in mind that it does not consist of solely MUSLIMS but people from many backgrounds who have a heart and are not blinded by what is going on. Never heard so much anti Israel, racist garbage for a long time. The last “peace” convoy was a total fiasco.
Those that didn’t get lost either broke down or were arrested. Much of the aid that actually got through was looted by Hamas and never reached the people it was intended for.
If I had the time and didn’t work for a living, I would organise an aid convoy for the Israeli civilians who have been forced out of their homes after years of bombardment by Hamas.

Dont worry about not being able to take time off work to help out Israel, over the last 20 years, the U.S. has been slowly phasing out economic aid to Israel and gradually replacing it with increased military aid. Beginning in 2007, the U.S. has been increasing military aid by $150 million each year. By Financial Year2013, the US will be sending Israel $3.15 billion a year (or an average of $8.6 million a day) and will continue to provide military aid at that level through 2018.

Those facts include the denial of Israels right to exist by just about all Islamic countries and organisations.
It is a probable fact that if Israel should lose the upper hand militarily they would not be allowed to peacefully disperse to other locations.
I comment on all things concerning this community and in some cases further afield, be they controversial or not, i do not retract any statements of mine currently viewable on this forum. The only statements i recall from you are ones where someones opinion of spiritual matters is in conflict with your own (have you no opinion on anything else?).
My being pro-humanity is a matter for other people to judge, it cannot however be judged by reading comments on here, i am for instance a patron (via direct debit) to several charities and a sports club which has a thriving youth section with many non white members.
Your last statement regarding Muslims is most definitely a fact, but then i am not supportive of other religions either, although most of them seem less threatening (but again that is only opinion).
I should like to make it clear that i DO wish the convoy well on its potentially perilous mission.

Billions in aid has been given to the people of Gaza, mainly from non-muslim states. Yet their government (Hamas) has not passed any of this down to the people. They prefer to buy weapons and fight a war they cannot win, their manifesto states the anialation of the state of Israel. There will always be a need in Gaza, as long as it is run by a terrorist organisation, and the sooner these foolish people realise this the better it will be for the people of Gaza, their protests should be about how Hamas treats it own people rather than their usual anti-Jewish diatribe!

mohfiaz, you say that history proves that non muslim territory have always enjoyed freedom of religion, maybe so, but in terms of the present day, christians in Pakistan have been murded by muslims purely on belief. If a Christian converts to islam, is he likely to be persecuted and murdered in a non-muslim 'territory' as a muslim who converts to Christianity can expect to happen to him (and particularly her) in a muslim 'territory'. It does get tedious when muslims in the uk have no interest in world affairs unless it involves muslims. That is my point, that the people in this convoy have no other motive other than supporting muslims. They would do this whoever was the 'villain'
