A 72-year-old man was struck in the face when a man got into his van.
The victim was driving his white Vauxhall vehicle along Manningham Lane, in Bradford, when he stopped at a set of traffic lights at the junction with Marlborough Road.
A small black car, believed to be a Fiat Punto, pulled up alongside and one of the occupants spat at the van.
Another person then got into the passenger’s side of the van and struck him in the face.
The elderly man was left with minor injuries and was taken to hospital where he was checked over and released.
The two suspects were Asian males in their early 20s. One of them was wearing what is described as a distinctive coat similar to that work by comedian Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown.
The assault occurred at about 4pm on Wednesday, May 13.
Any witnesses should contact PC 891 Mark Price on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
