A group of women in Allerton, Bradford, are cleaning up a neglected nature spot to re-create the play area it was many years ago.

They have cleared up Ayresome Oval for children to play and parents to meet.

The group received litter-pickers from Bradford Council’s Streets Ahead department to help make the area clean and safe.

Chris Slaven, Streets Ahead Neigh-bourhood Manager for Allerton, said: “It’s fantastic that residents are coming together to help the whole community. At Streets Ahead we will do what we can to support residents in making a difference to their local area.”
