Two more retailers have signed up to take space in the £320 million Broadway shopping centre, it was revealed today.

Mobile phone operators Vodafone and T-Mobile have confirmed that they will lease stores in the city centre development.

Westfield, the Australian company spearheading the development, said the signings were another positive step and added that it was in “advanced negotiations” with many other retailers.

Vodafone will take a 1,523 sq ft store, while T-Mobile will lease a 893 sq ft space.

The announcement follows last week’s successful leasing launch, during which Bradford-based shoe company Barratts announced it would be opening a 1,792 sq ft store in the development. Westfield’s leasing director, David Slade, said: “We had a great leasing launch in the city last week which was extremely well attended by retailers and agents.

“These latest signings are another positive step and we're in advanced negotiations with many other retailers.”

The mobile phone firms can be added to a list of familiar names signed up to the scheme, including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Next, River Island, Topshop and Topman, Miss Selfridge, Evans, Burton, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins and Beaverbrooks.

Councillor Adrian Naylor, Bradford Council's executive member for regeneration, said: “Good progress is being made with leasing and each new store announcement shows the continued confidence retailers have in Bradford and Westfield.”
