Students from all over Bradford and Airedale are benefiting next week from work experience in the NHS.
A placement programme has been introduced by Bradford and Airedale Teaching Pri-mary Care Trust (tPCT) and Education Bradford to help students interested in healthcare.
A group of 20 students will be working with non-clinical and clinical teams all over the district in a variety of roles, such as nursing, finance, speech and language therapy, IT and commissioning.
Their work will be celebrated on the final day of placements, with a presentation of certificates by the chairman of the tPCT John Chuter and Lord Kamesh Patel of Bradford.
Sabiya Khan, workforce development facilitator at the tPCT, said: “We’re pleased with the response we have had from students and schools. Our programme gives young people who have previously had no experience chance to develop their skills and learn more.”
Zulekha Younas, of Green-head High School, Keighley, one of the students involved in the scheme, said: “I’m really looking forward to going along and finding out more about the NHS and nursing.
“This programme will mean I can see what working as a nurse is really like.”
