A BRADFORD writer has won a top award for a stage production.
Trish Cooke writes for stage and TV and her book Tales From Then Caribbean was published last year.
She has been writing the book and lyrics for the Theatre Royal Stratford East Christmas shows on alternate years since 2005 and at the recent Great British Pantomime Awards ceremony, she and composer Robert Hyman won an award for best musical supervision.
"We were totally shocked. We were up against the London Palladium!" said Trish. "The awards celebrate the effort that goes into the yearly pantomime season throughout the UK."
The ceremony was at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London, hosted by Christopher Biggins.
