PLANS to expand a primary school building to allow it to take double the amount of pupils have been approved by Bradford Council.
Earlier this year, Poplars Farm Primary School applied to build and an expansion of its current building, which would include eight classrooms plus ancillary rooms, a new nursery in two new buildings, additional car parking and a new and extended playground.
The school said the expansion was needed because of a number of new housing developments in the area.
Last year the Council gave the go ahead for Poplars Farm Primary to move from being a single form entry school to a two form entry school, meaning it can take over 200 extra pupils.
The new nursery will have space for 26 under fives.
The planning application was required for the school to make the physical changes to its building and facilities.
The application was approved by planning officers earlier this week.
