A BRADFORD-based manufacturing firm has been celebrating after moving premises.

Debar Bi-fold Hardware produces bi-folding door systems, and has moved to a new headquarters in Brackenbeck Road, Great Horton.

The new premises have allowed the firm to bring manufacturing in-house and are part of a £500,000 investment. The firm has doubled its workforce since 2016 to more than 50, with the new base creating 11 more jobs with more being advertised.

Debar has also received support from the European Regional Development Fund which allows it to now design and manufacture its own bi-fold door hardware components rather than importing them from overseas.

Previously Debar’s operation had been split up across five smaller units in Bradford, but the firm’s new home at Concept House in Brackenbeck Road has allowed Debar to bring all its operations under one roof.

As well as office and warehouse space, the 42,000 sq ft building also has meeting rooms, a training facility, and a dedicated showroom for its products.

Graham Fawthrop, managing director, said the new site put the firm “at the forefront of product development”.

He said: “There has been a lot of hard work and effort put in by all members of the Debar team to reach the point we have today.

“The move to our new premises has provided a great opportunity to celebrate everyone’s involvement and to show our customers how our investment has paid off.

“We look forward to working in close partnership with our customers and suppliers to constantly evolve as a business, to meet and exceed the requirements of our marketplace.”

The new centre was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Abid Hussain.

He added: “Today is a celebration for Debar in opening their new facility.
