PLANS to turn an empty shop in Saltaire into a bar and bistro have been approved by Bradford Council.
Willow Properties (Yorkshire) had applied to convert an empty former hair salon, 24 Bingley Road, (pictured) and “invest substantially” in the building.
The new business would be on the ground and first floors. The second and third floors are currently a maisonette, and the new plans will not alter this.
The business would open from 11am to 11pm, and create four jobs.
Planning officers said: “The proposal would help to bring a vacant building back into active use which would have a beneficial impact upon the character and vibrancy of Saltaire, both in its attractiveness as a residential locale and tourist destination.”
