THERE was a massive police response this morning after reports a man was seen entering a city centre building with a gun.

Police were called to Westgate shortly after 8am today following a tip off an armed man had been seen on the corner of Westgate and Hamm Strasse before entering a nightclub building.

The road was closed off to traffic while officers, who witnesses said were armed, entered the building.

They found 30 people inside and each person was individually searched.

Three men, aged 22, 24 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of firearm posession offences.

Despite the arrests, police say they have not yet found any firearm.

Police also stopped a vehicle on Westgate in connection with the incident.

The call led to a huge police response, with multiple cars, vans, and incident response ambulances.

By 11.30am the majority of police had left the scene, and the road was re-opened, although officers could be seen standing guard outside the entrance to Medusa's Nightclub.

A police spokesman this morning said: "Officers are in attendance at a premises on Westgate, Bradford, in relation to a report received shortly before 8am this morning that a man had been seen entering the building in possession of a firearm.

"On police attendance around 30 people were found to be inside the premises, who have all now been individually searched.

"At this time no firearm has been found. A scene remains in place at the premises."

Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed they sent a hazardous area response team to the scene.
