STAFF and children at Jolly Tots in Burley in Wharfedale will have a head start on their fundraising this year.
Caley Hughes, from the pre-school nursery, says staff and the children are looking forward to supporting next month's Flat Cap Friday - the annual fundraiser for BTRS (Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire) - their chosen charity for 2018.
BTRS, formerly known as Andrea's Gift as it was launched in memory of Bradford mum, Andrea Key, is a cause close to home.
Sorrell Coulson, events and fundraising manager for BTRS, explains: "I approached my daughter’s nursery after our family took part in Jolly Tots amazing charity walk for Candlelighters last year.
"The whole team got really involved and it was fantastic to see how motivated and driven the nursery is with supporting local charities. After mentioning that I worked for BTRS, the nursery was really keen to support us in 2018, which was brilliant!"
Says Caley: "At Jolly Tots we select a charity to support each year. We like to, where possible, choose charities that have a connection to someone we know. This year we chose BTRS as one of our parents at Jolly Tots works for the charity. We feel that BTRS is a very valuable charity and if we can raise some funds for such a worthwhile cause then we are delighted to help."
